IRS Recent Graduate Program (Human Resources Assistant)

IRS Recent Graduates Program affords developmental experiences in the Federal Government intended to promote possible careers in the civil service to individuals who have recently graduated from qualifying educational institutions or programs. Selected applicants are placed in a dynamic, developmental program with the potential to lead to a civil service career in the Federal Government. In addition, the IRS implemented the new IRS Forward Recent Graduate Program that includes an additional year of formal development, training, networking, project teams, and may include rotational assignments. Following the completion of program requirements, selectees may be considered for non-competitive conversion to a career/career-conditional or term appointment. All conversion requirements will be identified in the Participant Agreement. Program requirements include but are not limited to:
Successful completion of at least 1 year of continuous service depending on the position; Completion of at least 40 hours of interactive training; Mentorship; Demonstration of successful job performance; and Meet the qualification position standards. Conversion to the competitive service is not implied or guaranteed. //www.jobs.irs.gov/about/who/business-divisions The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. You will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position. As a Human Resources Assistant, you will:
Counsel and provide information to managers and employees, compute benefits, review and assist in preparing required forms. Perform classification reviews of clerical and paraprofessional positions and recommend final classification actions. Review tentative organizational changes for processing or clerical work units; prepare position descriptions, review requests for Personnel Actions (SF-52s) and input data into automated human resources management systems. Prepare vacancy announcements, evaluate qualifications, and review promotion certificates and document selections. Schedule and conduct orientation sessions for new employees, respond to inquiries and prepare requests for certificates for rating under direct hire authority. Participate in course development activities such as developing project agreements and operational plans, gathering data, conducting task analyses, preparing reports, planning course format and design. Use various software programs and automated systems to prepare a variety of documents, revise, calculate, and retrieve data In order to qualify, you must first meet Pathways Recent Graduate Program eligibility:
You must have, within the previous 2 years, completed all educational requirements for a qualifying associate, bachelor, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying institution; or intended graduation is no more than 9 months from date of application; -OR- Veterans (as defined in 5 U.S.C. 2108) who, due to a military service obligation, were precluded from applying to a Recent Graduates Program during any portion of the 2-year eligibility period may have their eligibility period extended so that they receive the full 2 years of eligibility. The remaining 2-year eligibility period will begin upon his or her release or discharge from active duty. The veteran's eligibility period may not extend beyond 6 years from the date of completion of all requirements of an academic course of study. Secondly, you must meet any basic requirements of the position and the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. To be eligible for this position at the grade 5 level, you must meet the qualification requirements listed below:
SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 level in the Federal Government. Specialized experience is experience that is related to the work of this position and provides you with the competencies required for successful job performance. To be qualifying, your experience must be sufficient to demonstrate a knowledge of standard procedures and requirements related to an assigned human resource management function(s) to perform a variety of clerical duties that support the assigned function(s). Examples include:
Responding to routine inquiries via telephone, email or letter; Scheduling meetings and/or sessions with internal and external customers; Providing routine information to managers and employees on various human resources matters; Reviewing human resources related documents for format, completeness, and consistency; Providing support work to specialist/supervisor (i.e. maintaining administrative records, preparing case files or course materials); Entering data into various software programs and automated systems. OR EDUCATION:
Must have completed, or will complete within nine (9) months of application date, a Bachelor's degree or four (4) years of progressive education above high school in any field of study from an accredited college or university. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Combination of experience and education as described above. Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on a prorated basis.- To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week, on your resume. You must have been at the next lower grade level of the grade you are applying to for 52 weeks (time-in-grade requirement). Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
