Location: The required location for this position is Norfolk, VA.
Responsible for the day to day operational support for Medicaid encounter data processing and related functions including the receipt, submission, analysis and correction of such data. Responsible for the analysis of end user needs and for translating those needs into sound detail business requirements. Develops project plans and identifies and coordinates resources, involving those outside the unit. Works with programming staff to ensure requirements will be incorporated into system design.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
1. Creates and maintains databases to track business performance.
2. Analyzes data and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures.
3. Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e.g. for claims data, provider data, utilization data) and provides notations of performance deviations and anomalies.
4. Creates and publishes periodic reports, makes necessary recommendations, and develops ad hoc reports as needed.
5. May require taking business issue and devising best way to develop appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking data that will translate business requirements into usable decision support tools.
Qualifications for Business Information Analyst II:
Requires a BS/BA degree in related field.
2-4 years related operational and/or data analysis experience.
Experience in database structures, and standard query and reporting tools.
Any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
This job is more focused on technical expertise and analysis as compared to the Bus Info Analyst I job.
Knowledge of 837 and other standard EDI transactions required.
Knowledge of the Trizetto MDE Encounter Processing system preferred.
Excellent analytical, organizational, planning, project management and PC skills required.
Microsoft Office Excel experience required.
Database, SQL experience preferred.
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills essential.
Encounters, Medicaid and claims experience preferred.
