Deputy Director for Commercial Operations

Job Description:
The Deputy Director for Commercial Operations (DDCO) is the primary facilitator of operations resources for our commercial Project Managers. He/she will be responsible for coordinating with each of the Operations Department's functional managers to provide the right people, planes, sensors, and logistics resources necessary for the safe and successful execution of our commercial flight projects. The DDCO is specifically responsible for fleet management of our single engine aircraft, in terms of maintaining and upgrading their material condition, and in determining and communicating asset availability. He/she will work closely with the Light Aircraft Maintenance Manager to do so. This position requires the ability to work in a matrix organization as a true team player, interacting with resource pools and with program managers. Organizational skills, flexibility, attention to detail, and a positive and can-do attitude are critical behavioral attributes.
The Deputy Director for Commercial Operations reports directly to the Director of Operations. Specific duties include, but are not limited to the information below.
Operations Management
Coordinate and facilitate resources for commercial program and project managers in order to achieve mission goals
Identify and establish processes and procedures in order to maximize efficiency of repeating functions
Manage critical vendors (FBOs, fuel providers, flight service providers, etc.) to ensure cost-efficient and timely support
Support special projects assigned by program/project managers to deploy and execute commercial flight operations world-wide
Manage the fleet-wide inventory of aircraft and sensor system hardware
Conduct and/or supervise the site set up of a start-up flight operations location anywhere throughout the world
Provides the Director of Operations with operations reports and recommendations on process improvement
Qualifications:
Requirements:
10+ years of flight operations management experience
500+ hours pilot in command experience (any aircraft)
Demonstrated management experience working in a matrix organization
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to travel (up to 25%)

Degree: Bachelors degree preferred
