Support complex hosted installations of Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Lync (including 2010 and 2013 and O365 versions) in both subdomain and resource forest configurations for NaviSite?s hosted Messaging & Collaboration Customers.
? Work with Exchange/Lync Engineering Architects, Messaging & Collaboration Management, Sales Architects and Product Management as needed to craft and support new and existing customer solutions and provide customers with a positive experience.
? Support Exchange,O365 and Lync customers at NaviSite, including participating in the implementation handoff, certifying the internal server/networking specifications to NaviSite?s Messaging standards, working with the customer to extend Active Directory into NaviSite, safely installing Exchange and/or Lync into a NaviSite-managed subdomain or a resource forest domain, and crafting custom front-end cutover, DR testing, and user migrations procedures specific to the customer?s business requirements and technical details.
? Document and support customer architectures for Exchange 2010 and 2013, including modularized sub-components such as archiving, Edge Transport services, reverse proxy with or without pre-authentication, and intersections with other Messaging product layers such as Lync.
? Document and support customer?s production architectures for Lync, including sub-components for features such as Edge Services, Archiving, Federation. Architectures could include front-end protocol diagrams in conjunction with networking, basic server footprint diagrams, and multiple datacenter Disaster Recovery diagrams.
? Provide ongoing feedback and hands-on improvement into our documentation, QA, and overall Project practices.
? Serve as operational 3rd level of escalation for Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Lync issues, including taking on-call rotations.
? Actively participate in team knowledge capture and management.
? Provide exceptional services in identifying root causes and solutions to application problems.
? Lead resolution of specific issues and internal projects (such as customer Health checks) associated with assigned responsibilities.
? Communicate progress on projects and production support to Management on a regular basis.
? Proactively stay up-to-date on releases of the Exchange Lync product.
? Expert knowledge of Exchange 2010, 2013 and O365 features and architecture requirements, with a focus on production support.
? Expert knowledge of Lync 2013 and 2010, including enterprise pools, geographic redundancy, federation, public IM connectivity, archiving, audio/video, web conferencing, and telephony integration.
? Deep experience / comfort with writing, inheriting, debugging, and running PowerShell scripts for Exchange and Lync.
? Experience with Exchange and Lync recovery scenarios and processes.
? Deep understanding of Active Directory and its underlying relationship and dependencies with proper operation of O365, Exchange and Lync.
? Experience migrating and supporting previous versions and competing platforms to newer versions of Exchange and Lync.
? 7-10 years working primarily with Exchange and Lync.
? Hands-on EMM / MDM / BES experience a plus.
? Experience with TMG, IIS ARR or IIS WAP a plus.
? Experience supporting Microsoft Systems center (SCOM 2012)
? Candidates with varied experience (especially previous Hosting experience) will be strongly preferred.
? 4 year degree preferred.
? Will carry a phone for work (BYOD or Corporate) and will occasionally be on call 24 hours.
? Ability to clearly document testing plans, test results, instructions and status reports based on document formatting standards.
? Ability to write clear documentation.
? Ability to conceptualize and document a process in Visio and in a set of procedures as needed.
? Ability to communicate progress information clearly ? both orally and in writing.
