Electro-Mechanical Engineering Leader

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Hardware for Advanced Diabetes Care, this position will be responsible for managing the mechanical engineer and designer group. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the hardware design and development through verification and validation of electro-mechanical disposable devices in support of project teams. The candidate will have demonstrated successful skills in provindg effective direction and oversight to direct reprots that are supporting medical device design and development, design control, and transfer to manaufacturing. The candidate will interface with other functional areas, such as system, hardware, mechanical, quality, regulatory, etc, to ensure successful implementation of intended designs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attract, develop and retain the best talent to ensure the highest standard of excellence in industry research and development resulting in accelerated delivery of meaningful innovations to patients globally.
Provide management for direct reports, creating a culture of Accountability, Customer Focus, Teamwork, and Execution.
Ensure electro mechanical development activities achieve project milestones and goals and are compliant with necessary regulatory and BD requirements.
Developing and evaluating staff through creating and enacting development plans and executing performance reviews.
Working with Hardware manager to set departmental yearly and long term goals.
Collaborate with peer leaders in product development as well as technology development efforts.
Accountable for effective performance of designs and deliverables for drug delivery devices.
Work closely with hardware, mechanical, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing teams to conduct research, draft proposals, and design software tools to improve quality control procedures and manufacturing processes.
REQUIREMENTS:
BS Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Biomedical, or Electrical Engineering preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of development experience in electrical and or mechanical designs for a regulated industry.
Minimum of 5 years of experience leading mechanical and design engineers in planning, designing and testing high volume manufactured components.
ADDITIONAL AND PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFIATIONS:
MS or MBA preferred.
Working knowledge of international standards applicable to medical devices, including IEC 62304, ISO13485, ISO14971, and IEC60601, is preferred.
Dynamic leader with proven track record in managing ambiguity and influencing with and without Authority.
Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience bringing high volume medical, disposable devices to production and into the market from anywhere in the product life cycle.
People management, including direct supervision of tasks and delivering performance feedback

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
