Manager-Govt Collections

POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide day-to-day supervision and leadership of the Billing and Collections Specialists team with the goal to improve DSO. May assist the Sr. Specialists in resolving claims. As a working manager, may assist team in meeting deadlines.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Manage staff schedule and assure adequate coverage to meet department deadlines.
2. Monitor work performance of individual employees and the team as a whole.
3. Support staff in meeting department productivity schedules.
4. Train and coach team in technical, interpersonal and provider/customer relations skills.
5. Resolve issues impacting productivity, e.g. technology, process.
6. Escalate issues beyond span of control to Manager.
7. Work with Manager to identify the needs for policies, procedures and system changes to enhance efficiency.
8. In collaboration with Manager, actively participate in performance review for each staff member.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
