The Program Director for the Medicaid Product Development team is responsible for identifying new and unique partnerships in the Medicaid business to support Anthem?s solutions specialized service populations (i.e. individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, children in foster care, people with substance use or mental health conditions or other people with physical disabilities needing long-term services and supports). The Program Director should have knowledge of, and be comfortable working with, non-profits and other community based organizations, to develop unique and scalable solutions to expand and enhance the Anthem Medicaid product offering. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Strategizes with internal and external leaders to develop ideas and expand the concepts of unique, joint partnerships to support our Medicaid program, positioning Anthem as a leader in the Medicaid space, making us more competitive in bids, and providing a better experience for our members/providers.
Provides subject matter expertise either from managed care and/or non-profit perspective, and generates ideas and concepts to overcome business obstacles and gaps prevalent in solutions for specialized service populations.
Assists Partners in developing joint programs, capabilities and services that create a win-win for both organizations and more importantly, for the Medicaid member.
Guides development of the business case and implementation plan to ensure the program is launched effectively and seamlessly and integrated with Anthem?s specialized product solutions.
Directs the planning, implementation, and evaluation of program developed via the partnerships, including the associated analytics that support the business case.
Creates and delivers formal and informal presentations about the new solutions and the value of the solutions to Anthem business executives and leaders in the Medicaid business.
Establishes and builds credibility with both internal and external audiences with diverse, and sometimes conflicting, perspectives to design and convey the value proposition of the partnership.
BA/BS degree; 10 years of experience in external client facing program management, project management; complex business processes, strategic and business planning; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Knowledge of managed care and non-profit operations.
Working knowledge of Medicaid programs (including clinical, non-clinical, operations, customer service and other functions), particularly related to emerging specialized service products/programs and populations (i.e. HCBS waiver programs, Foster Care programs, IDD services and programs, Medicaid Expansion)
High energy, self-starter, with the proven ability to think creatively and embrace challenges.
Comfortable with ambiguity and thrives on addressing problems with new (untested and untried) solutions OR programs being applied in a new way or with a new construct.
Up to 50% travel throughout the United States.
MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
