Safety Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Safety Engineer with a client located in Andover, MA.
In this role, you will direct and manage contracts that support the ESH organization, including hazardous waste management and disposal, environmental assessments, permitting, and emergency response activities.
You must have experience reporting to and interfacing with Massachusetts and Federal environmental and safety regulatory agencies.
Pay/Salary Range:
$80.
00/hr - $87.
00/hrThis is a 6 month contract to hire role.
US Citizen only.
Safety Engineer job responsibilities include:
o Ensure compliance to US EPA TSCA 5(e) regulations for the commercialization of new chemicals.
o Manage safety testing of new chemicals through international regulatory processeso Build effective relationships and trust with key stakeholders and business partners to drive program enhancements and support the development and reporting of metrics and performance data.
o Support emergency and response operations through assistance and oversight to staff during response activities, driving post-incident investigation and corrective action activities, and as a member of the Emergency Operations Command team.
Qualifications:
o Bachelors Degree, or similar related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined educationo 6-9 years experienceo Experience reporting to and interfacing with Massachusetts and Federal environmental and safety regulatory agencieso Ability to respond to internal and external issues to maintain regulatory compliance and enhance the employee experience.
