Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical documentation to ensure accurate coding and billing - Assign appropriate medical codes (ICD-10, ICD-9, DRG) to diagnoses and procedures - Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations - Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail - Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve any billing discrepancies
Qualifications:
- Must have experience in Medicare/Medicaid billing including United Health - Must have Home healthcare billing experience - Experienced in appeals and reprocessing - Proficient in using medical billing software systems and electronic health record (EHR) systems including (Axxess) - Familiarity with insurance guidelines, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers - Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment Note:
