Responsibilities:
Perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures in a way that will deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
Develop a rapport with clients and determine their needs and wishes; draft and present treatment plans to clients and answer any questions they have.
Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols.
Perform general office duties such as answering phones, maintaining records, filing, etc.
Advise and educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines and appropriate nutritional products.
Perform emergency services as necessary.
Stay up-to-date with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine, attend seminars as required.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
License to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Massachusetts.
Proficiency in veterinary medicine.
Experience as an Associate Veterinarian is preferred, but 0-10 years of experience will be considered.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a team.
Proficiency in computer systems for data entry and record keeping.
