This role will:
Be accountable for the overall sourcing strategy for Innovation and approved embecta projects within the Global Product Development System (GPDS), contributing to the projects' commercial success as part of the GDPS core team in addition to Contract Manufacturing for Global embecta products and services.
Lead global teams in the development, communication and approval or souring strategies.
Sourcing strategies should be inclusive of regional business requirements.
Lead the overall planning, leadership and execution of all procurement activities and ensure appropriate alignment between suppliers, sourcing associates and GPDS cross-functional teams Represent and act as the single point of contact and represent all aspects of Procurement at new product development and innovation project core team meetings as well as representing procurement in industrialization process as required.
Align overall sourcing strategy for new product development work and ensure clear communication of material/design requirements, schedule, and project results Cultivate collaboration with our external preferred supplier networks to demonstrate on their innovation capabilities, transforming ideas into commercial solutions to contribute to embecta's top-line revenue growth KEY
Responsibilities:
Responsible for partner relationships with assigned product development teams and work well and along with other Procurement Team Members, applying existing material and category strategies for pre- and post-launch new product development activities Responsible for developing negotiation strategies, negotiation and contracting with suppliers and ensuring the agreements reflect embecta's needs globally.
Investigate supply market and develop an understanding of general and specific market conditions that impact NPD Research and identify Suppliers that enable embecta's position in the marketplace through cost, innovation, timeliness, product quality, efficiencies, etc.
Implement new product development pre-launch activities such as commercial aspects of supplier qualification and supplier development in close collaboration with R&D, cross-functional operations teams as well as category/procurement teams Where applicable, establishes initial post-launch supplier relationship management with key suppliers and ensure that all suppliers are treated in a professional, ethical and fair manner Responsible for managing to Procurements key business goals and for integrating the appropriate sourcing and procurement activities into New Product Development or Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives Responsible for customer relationship with internal stakeholders on a global basis With the head of External Manufacturing serve as part of the company's management for Contract Manufacturers.
Responsible for executing supplier relationship management activities for Contract Manufacturing suppliers with oversight regarding supplier relations management activities for global suppliers.
Improves BD's financial position through procurement related project results, cost savings, non-price value opportunities and risk mitigation impacting R&D and New Product Development teams.
Represents all aspects of Procurement at Core Team meetings Travel to Suppliers and other embecta sites will occasionally be required BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors' degree 7
years of work experience in a product development setting; strategic sourcing, supplier development or innovation procurement experience High cross-functional understanding of New Product Development, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain processes and standards Experience drafting solid Supply Agreements with World Class Contract Manufacturers PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Previous work managing Contract Manufacturers or working in the Contract Manufacturing environment is preferred.
Strong influencing and communication skills within a highly matrixed and multi-cultural organization Excellent Project Management Capabilities, ensuring NPD teams stay within agreed to project plans Ability to deal with ambiguity and complexity Strong business and commercial acuity and result oriented Excellent negotiation, supplier management and problem-solving skills preferable master's in Engineering, Material Sciences, Procurement or Supply Chain Fluent English, both oral and written Preferable having experience in medical technology, healthcare or pharmaceutical industry Recommended Skills Business Process Improvement Business Requirements Coaching And Mentoring Cost Reduction Diversity Awareness English Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
