We are seeking a full-time Practice Assistant to work in our Andover Internal Medicine office (323 Lowell Street) Monday through Friday, 8:
30am to 5:
00pm.
There is an option to move to 4, 10-hour shifts per week after the successful completion of the first 90 days of employment.
General OverviewThe Practice Assistant provides administrative support to health care providers within the department.
Working under the general direction of the Site Manager, the Practice Assistant is responsible for the efficient flow of the patients coming into the practice.
This position is responsible for ensuring optimal appointment management, registration, and telephone services.
Primary Responsibilities Greets all patients and visitors to the practice in a professional, consistent, timely, and respectful manner.
Effectively interacts with a diverse population.
Performs all patient check-in and check-out functions including registration, co-pay collection, insurance verification, obtaining waiver forms for a missing referral, scheduling follow-up appointments, etc.
Assists patients with questions and coordinates any necessary resources including transport, interpreters, and other services as requested by patients.
Schedules, reschedules, and cancels patient appointments.
Provides patient education for virtual visits and pertinent information about the practice and hospital as needed.
Update end-of-day appointment status to record no-shows, cancellations, and left without being seen.
Answers all incoming calls and electronic messages via, Patient Gateway, eReferral, Outlook, and Epic from patients and providers seeking addictions services in a timely manner.
Ensures accurate demographic and financial information for each patient encounter.
Transfers patients with changes to the Patient Service Center.
Qualifications Education:
A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
Experience:
A minimum of 1 year of customer service experience.
Previous experience in a medical office environment preferred.
Recommended Skills Administration Customer Service Finance Internal Medicine Health Care Telephone Skills Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
