POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
Reporting to the Chief Operation Officer, the Vice President of Operations will ensure successful operation of the Andover / North Andover Branch of the Merrimack Valley YMCA, including membership, programs, volunteer recruitment, staff supervision, community relations, collaborations, budgeting and financial and philanthropic results.
Leads the program development strategy that drives revenue, membership, and sustainability for the association.
Essential Functions:
1.
Oversees the hiring, training, development, supervision, evaluation and structure of Andover / North Andover Branch staff.
2.
Develops, manages, and monitors the operating budget of Andover / North Andover Branch and meets or exceeds budget targets.
3.
Develops the annual operating plan, aligned with association strategic plan, of the Andover / North Andover Branch.
4.
Advances the philanthropic activities of the Andover / North Andover Branch.
5.
Creates and leads an innovative association program strategy for non-childcare/camp programming that is directly related to membership growth, continued revenue growth expectations, and sustainability of the organization.
6.
Coordinates the development of the Andover / North Andover Branch Board of Managers and committees.
Directs the volunteer activities of the Andover / North Andover Branch.
7.
Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities.
Develops, maintains, and models collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area.
8.
Grows and directs high quality inclusive relationship-based member and program participant engagement strategies.
Models relationship-building skills in all interactions with staff, volunteers, members, and the community.
9.
Ensures the safety and maintenance of high quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.
10.
Serves as a member of Y management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
11.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
1.
Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business or equivalent experience and skills.
2.
Eight or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
3.
Knowledge and experience in all aspects of operations, including staff supervision and development, membership practices, program development and implementation, volunteerism, facility and property management and financial practices.
4.
Understanding of the nature and purpose of the YMCA and the respective roles of volunteers and staff 5.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
6.
Proven track record of developing authentic constructive relationships with others.
7.
Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
COMPENSATION:
Salary:
